The King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, features one of the largest and most advanced, well-organized parking networks.

KAFD Parking

The parking network is designed to span multiple massive underground levels—reaching up to four or five basement floors in some areas. These interconnected facilities serve all residential, office, and commercial towers, accommodating tens of thousands of vehicles simultaneously to keep the surface area clear and dedicated to pedestrians and facilities.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR): The parking facilities utilize ANPR technology to streamline and accelerate entry and exit, eliminating the need for traditional paper tickets in many areas. Designed to accommodate over 60,000 vehicles—with most facilities located underground and spanning multiple levels—this complex ranks among the world's largest integrated underground parking systems. In alignment with sustainability goals and Vision 2030, KAFD provides dedicated electric vehicle charging stations across various parking areas. Strategically located parking spaces—situated in close proximity to main entrances and elevators—are designated for individuals with special needs and fully equipped to meet universal accessibility standards. Valet services are available at main entrances, fine-dining restaurants, and office towers, alongside dedicated VIP areas that offer an exclusive and expedited arrival experience. Visitors can conveniently pay parking fees via the KAFD App or at self-service payment kiosks located throughout the facilities, which support electronic payment methods and contactless credit cards.
