The palace was constructed using solid black volcanic stone quarried from the local terrain—specifically the *harrat* (lava fields)—imparting exceptional durability that has allowed parts of the structure to withstand the passage of centuries. The area surrounding the palace and its rocky landscape features various historical inscriptions, most notably ancient Thamudic scripts and Kufic inscriptions dating back to the early Islamic era. The surrounding area also contains rock carvings and depictions of humans and animals, documenting the lifestyle and environment of ancient times. The palace is situated in a region historically rich in groundwater and natural springs—such as Ain Faydah and Ain Jarida—transforming it into a fertile agricultural oasis surrounded by palm trees.
